Learning Spaces
Kindergarten Three
Our Kindergarten 3 studios are a warm, nurturing space where our 2.5 to 3.5 year old children flourish.
In this inviting learning environment, creative setups like open-ended role play spark their fascinations, helping children gently build early literacy and numeracy skills through joyful, play-based activities.
The daily adventures in our pre-kindergarten include visits to the local park, where children connect with nature and each other, building friendships and social skills. Guided by our specialist Italian teacher, children are immersed in learning a second language.
Throughout all experiences, we emphasise protective behaviours, helping our children grow confidently, safely and independently, all within a supportive and caring community that prepares them for the exciting journey into more formal learning.
The Rhythm of the Day
Welcome
Morning Tea
Outdoor Exploration
Lunch
Sleep Time
After lunch, our children transition to sleep time. In a peaceful environment, the entire room settles down for rest. Some nap while others engage in quiet provocations: activities that inspire curiosity and independent exploration.
Atelier Visit
Our children visit our custom art studio where they engage in activities tailored to their current interests. These schematic play experiences are designed by our educators to align with each child’s developmental needs and natural ‘fascinations’.
Afternoon Tea
The children enjoy a healthy, buffet-style afternoon tea, fostering social interactions and wellness.
Home Time
As the day draws to a close, we welcome parents into the studio to engage with our educators to hear all about their child’s day. This connection helps them move comfortably from The Akidamy back to their family settings.
Atelier
Children regularly visit our Atelierista Miss Erin in the art studio to engage in creative activities that encourage curiosity and self-expression.
Projects combine art, science and a treasure trove of materials to excite all the senses.
Italian Lessons
Ms Magarita is our guide to all things Italy! As our language specialist, her lessons teach little ones new words and phrases, enriching their language development.
Language learning is supported by using these phrases throughout the day with the whole team.
Yoga & Mindfulness
Children are invited to join in yoga and mindfulness sessions. These sessions promote physical wellness and emotional balance.
Core strength and flexibility are just some of the benefits of daily practice.
Occupational Therapy
Each week, an Occupational Therapist from Baby Steps Health Centre joins us to guide children through a school readiness program.
These sessions focus on developing their physical and cognitive skills, helping them gain confidence and prepare for the next exciting step in their learning.
Park Visits & Community Walks
All children enjoy regular visits to the local park and walks around our wider community, where they can explore nature and engage in active play.
Fresh air, a change of scenery and interaction with the community all provide social and emotional growth.
O-Soji
We are inspired by the O-Soji practices of Japan where children are encouraged to respect and clean their space by helping tidy up.
These methods encouage teamwork and responsibility both at School and home.
Our Early Learning Specialists
“I have worked in childcare for over 10 years now. I would say my favourite part of working with children is, that no day is ever the same. While some days come with challenges, most are filled with love, learning, and growth.
As an educator, I’m passionate about ensuring that every child feels respected, heard, and valued, regardless of their learning abilities or cultural backgrounds. I believe that when children are respected and loved, they can truly thrive and learn. Helping them grow and watching their learning develop is incredibly rewarding.
Being one of the first teachers children encounter is a responsibility I cherish. The relationships we build with them create strong, meaningful connections that stick with us both.”
