Our Studios and Learning Spaces

Nursery Studio

Ages 3 - 18 months

Our nursery provides a warm and respectful environment for your baby. Featuring a thoughtfully designed outdoor area, the nursery supports your child’s sensory development and growth with a gentle touch.

The nursery caters to two distinct age groups. Nursery 1 Studio for children aged 3 to 12 months: this space has been custom-designed to ensure that little ones are safe and secure. The Nursery 2 Studio caters to children aged 12 to 18 months, fostering their growth and mobility. Both studios have small-sized sleep rooms to allow for better children supervision and rest.

Nursery studios also have their own designed playspace specifically tailored to encourage children’s development and exploration.

Ages 18 Months to 2.5 Years

In this space, toddlers are encouraged to explore and engage in activities that stimulate their minds and bodies. Our Fremantle Toddler space is designed to guide, support, and encourage your child’s growing independence and curiosity with ample opportunities for discovery.

This age group has access to their own playspace, which faces the Port of Fremantle and beautiful sea outlook.

Ages 2.5 to 3.5 Years

Our Fremantle Kindergarten 3 space (pre-kindy programme) nurtures the blossoming verbal skills and sense of agency in children aged 2.5 to 3.5 years. Your child will benefit from collaborative learning and the mentorship of older peers, gaining confidence, skills, and knowledge.

With two studios that can accommodate up to 20 children each, the Kindergarten 3 Studio is specifically designed for small-group learning environments. It also offers access to its own Atelier and play-based playspaces.

Ages 3.5 to 5 Years

In our Kindergarten 4 area, children aged 3.5 to 5 years are guided to become independent, sociable and resilient young people. Your child will be encouraged to articulate their unique ideas, explore their world – and understand their own value and importance within it.

Two Atelier studios are available at Fremantle, one of which is sized for Kindergarteners and the other for Nursery and Toddlers aged children.

Our art studio invites children to build, craft, and create. With guidance from art specialists, they can explore painting, clay work, and other mediums, nurturing their artistic expression and fine motor skills.

Shared across the school, our yoga and music room invites children to explore music, movement, and language. With resources for rhythm, movement, dance, and singing, your child will be supported to develop their creative expression and build important skills.

La Cucina (Italian for ‘kitchen’), is a welcoming space where children can watch, and sometimes take part in, the preparation of their meals. The delicious smells and visible cooking process create a warm, comfortable atmosphere that connects families and children.

The school is committed to providing nutritious and delicious vegetarian meals for every child, with our on-site chef in an open-facing kitchen delivering the highest quality of meals.

Outdoor environment is a dynamic classroom extension, fostering children’s curiosity, physical development, and connection with nature, aligning with our Reggio Emilia, RIE, and Pikler philosophies. This playspace integrates diverse natural materials and adaptable “loose parts” for sensory exploration and imaginative construction. It includes varied terrains and structures for gross motor skills and safe risk-taking, quiet nooks for reflection, and elements like vegetable gardens for sustainability, ensuring holistic development. There are three major age-specific playspaces face the Port of Fremantle and the Heritage Centre of Fremantle.
